No.A : I usually produce Japanese traditional crafts, mainly making decorated boxes, vessels and other usable items using Japanese lacquer.
This work was produced in the form of a box, and I imagined “morning" and “night" with the color of vermilion and black that are traditional colors of Japanese lacquer.
This is the work that I produced using only coatings of Japanese lacquer, not using watermarks or Makie (gold lacquer) as I usually do.
No.B : I produced the work as my graduation work when I completed a master's course in graduate school. When I was a graduate student, I studied watermarked lacquered boxes and produced works using decoration techniques such as Makie (gold lacquer) or Raden (mother‐of‐pearl work). With the theme of "gregariousness of Rabbitear irises", I expressed the waterfront where Rabbitear irises live with Makie (gold lacquer) or Raden on the work of lacquer (Japan) ware.
